Have you ever had your life changed by a 22-minute saxophone solo? 

Oakland/Minneapolis based-experimental saxophonist Cole Pulice has been gaining publicity in recent years, and a favorite of their work so far has been the immaculately titled If I Don’t See You in the Future, I’ll See You in the Pasture, a single 22-minute instrumental track released in early 2023 to considerable acclaim.

It sets in slowly, with ambient washes and tons of space between each note. But something major happens around 15 minutes in – you'll know it when you hear it, because you'll be sent out of your body and into the cosmos. We do not recommend this as background music for working (at least not the first time).

It may be ambient, but it's definitely made for active listening. Bring out the good headphones or turn up the stereo. Let it fill the room and wash over you when you need it.
